Tegan Murnane
Biography
Tegan Murnane is a Senior Social Worker and Project Officer at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. They have worked with patients, families and carers at Peter Mac since 2010 across various tumour streams with a current primary focus on urological and neuro-oncological cancers. Tegan has worked on various projects at Peter Mac including Pathways to Home (supporting people with a disability to return home with NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) supports), The Better at Home Initiative: Sub-Acute Rehab/GEM referrals, The Strengthening Hospital Responses to Family Violence Program and the SCNAT-IP: Supportive Cancer Care Needs Assessment Tool for Indigenous people with cancer. They have a strong interest in the areas of; geriatric oncology (aged care and supports for older people), loss and grief associated with a cancer diagnosis, palliative care, family violence, The LGBTQIA+ community, the effects of cancer on sexuality and intimacy and optimising supports and discharge pathways for people with cancer. Tegan is one of Peter Mac’s Family Violence Contact Officer for staff members.
