At Peter Mac, we offer a free headwear service to for patients experiencing hair loss due to cancer treatment.

Our staff and volunteers provide a welcoming and respectful environment where patients can explore different headwear options. Our headwear space is designed to give you privacy, dignity, and practical support during what can be a challenging time.

Our dedicated community of volunteers sew thousands of new headwear pieces each year, including night caps, berets, turbans, head scarves, hats, and beanies.

Patients can access up to three (3) pieces of headwear free of charge, to keep and use as they wish.

The Headwear Room is located within the Volunteer Services Department at Peter Mac Melbourne and is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30am to 12:30pm.

Wigs

Peter Mac does not currently provide wigs as part of this service. If you are seeking wig options, the Look Good Feel Better program offers guidance and can connect you with trusted suppliers.

A list of wig and headwear suppliers across Australia, including Victoria can be found at Look Good Feel Better - Wig and headwear contacts.
