Nursing at Peter Mac is committed to providing nurses with diverse learning opportunities that support their continuing professional development (CPD). Examples of continuing professional development activities available include interdisciplinary department education sessions, unit/department in‑service programs, role observational experiences and role transition preceptorship opportunities.
The Nursing In‑Service Program offers nurses across Parkville and satellite campuses access to continuous education and professional development. The program runs twice a month and is delivered by multidisciplinary subject matter experts, with sessions designed to strengthen clinical knowledge, skills and understanding of current healthcare practices, including clinical standards and protocols.
The Nurse Leadership Development Series supports nurse leaders at Peter Mac to develop leadership skills and capability. This program is open to nurse leaders such as Nurse Managers, Associate Nurse Unit Managers and Nurses in Team Leader positions.
