The Peter Mac Entry to Practice Nursing Student Placement Program is committed to supporting nursing students as they transition into professional practice. The program provides a structured and supportive learning environment that builds clinical competence, confidence and professional capability.
Students will have the opportunity to work alongside our dedicated specialist nursing teams within a multidisciplinary environment, contributing to the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centred care. Clinical exposure includes caring for patients receiving treatment and support for cancer and treatment‑related conditions, with a strong emphasis on safety, compassion and evidence‑based practice.
The program focuses on developing core clinical skills, critical thinking and effective communication, enabling students to grow as confident, capable nurses while gaining valuable experience in acute inpatient and ambulatory care settings.
Placement settings include inpatient wards, Cancer Imaging, Clinical Trials, Day Therapy, Day of Surgery Admission/Short Stay, Enhanced Care Unit, Operating Suite, Palliative Care, Peter Mac @ Home (community), Radiotherapy Nursing and Specialist Clinics.
