The Youth Cancer Centre is the home of the Victorian Adolescent & Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Service. You do not have to be a patient with our service to access the Centre. Young people and their families can come here to:

  • relax while waiting for hospital appointments
  • take time away from the ward if they are staying in hospital
  • see a member of the Victorian AYA Cancer Service team
  • attend some of our group programs

The Youth Cancer Centre features:

  • a patient and family lounge
  • a fully equipped kitchen
  • work/study nooks
  • semi-private rest spaces
  • a multipurpose room (used for everything from movie nights to a yoga or music studio)

It also houses a broad range of information and resources. Young people receiving treatment at Peter Mac can also access or borrow these resources during hospital stays. Resources include:

  • books
  • games
  • art supplies
  • PlayStations
  • DVD players and DVDs
  • VR headsets
