Ms Catherine Keating
Biography
Cath Keating is a Senior Speech Pathologist at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, with 20 years of experience in South Australia, Victoria, and Western Australia. She specialises in working with adults in a tertiary hospital setting, focusing on communication and swallowing disorders. Cath thrives in multidisciplinary teams, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Passionate about speech pathology education, she has held the position of clinical educator in hospitals and universities in Adelaide and Melbourne. She was the Clinical Educator at the student-led Aphasia Rehabilitation clinic at the University of Melbourne, mentoring students and collaborating with clinical educators to create meaningful learning experiences. She also conducted workshops for other clinical educators, including feedback strategies, reflective practice, and assessment techniques.
Cath co-presented at the Asia-Pacific Education Collaboration – Speech Language Pathology conference, discussing how technology enhances student learning in clinical education. Currently, she balances her clinical responsibilities with her role in Allied Health education at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
