Biography

Dr Jesse Armitage is a cancer researcher specialising in cancer immunology and bioinformatics within the Beavis laboratory.

He completed his doctoral studies at the University of Western Australia (2020) in the Moodley laboratory, where he studied the immunological impact of mesenchymal stromal cell therapy in patients with chronic lung disease. After completing his PhD, he began his post-doctoral work in the Waithman laboratory at The Kids Research Institute Australia (Perth) as a systems immunologist. He currently holds joint appointments at the University of Western Australia (Waithman laboratory) and The Kids Research Institute Australia (Malinge laboratory) as a specialist bioinformatician.

In 2025, Dr Armitage joined the Beavis laboratory, leveraging the use of multi-omic sequencing technology to identify new immunotherapeutic targets. His current research focus aims to decipher novel immunological networks that improve anti-tumour T cell responses in solid tumours.
